More disagreements between NFLPA and retirees will be solved

Hall of Famer Herb Adderley and NFLPA just reached an agreement on a lawsuit and braught $26.25 million to 2,056 retired NFL players. As it is reported, this is just a start to solve the union's disagreements with the retirees.

Many retired players are upset over the disability and pension benefits they receive from the NFLPA. Smith, new head of the NFL players' union, said the settlement was "one small step" toward resolving other issues with retired players.

"From this day forward, one of the things we will be working on is to remove the word 'retired' from any group of people who play this game. We will be one team. We will have one locker room. We will speak with one voice."

Hopefull the retirees will get more benefit deserved to them.

Kampman accepted his new role without dispute

Since coming of coordinator Dom Capers, the Packers is under defensive transition. Switch from 4-3 to 3-4 defense made Aaron Kampman transited from a 4-3 defensive end to a 3-4 outside linebacker.

He has been keeping silece on this issue and caused speculation that the seven-year veteran was unhappy with the change. Recently he finally said something about this. His remark was terse:“I’m not at liberty to make those choices.” It seems that he will accecpt the change anyway, even if he is really unhapppy with it.

Kampman's coaches and teammates all showed confidence in him and believed that he will perfome well on new position.

Will Cardinals start negotiation with Boldin's agent soon?

Boldin said the Cardinals lied to him. He said that he got promise of new contract but the Cards did not carry out the promise, and he wanted a trade.

The Cardinals said that no trade would be allowed without enough compensation, because there is still 2 years left on Boldin's current contract. And they need more time to deal with Boldin's new contract.

Boldin, who has made the Pro Bowl in three of his six NFL seasons, did not take part in the Cardinals' minicamp last month for sore hamstring, and has not shown on subsequent voluntary practice since.

Cardinals GM Rod Graves said recently he will have a meeting with Boldin's new agent Tom Condon. That might be a sign of coming negotiation about Boldin's new contract.

Brian Orakpo is adapting himself to NFL career in Redskins

We may see a new star growing from a rookie player in Brian Orakpo. I think so.

He was chosen by the Redskins as the 13th pick in the 2009 NFL draft. Before that he was a defensive end in the University of Texas. He has learnt to thinks as fast as possible after he finished the first OTAs in the professional career. He did what his coach told him to do, and seemingly did well in adapting himself to professional career in NFL.

His high speed and relentless pursuit of the play made him got 11.5 sacks and 40 total tackles in his stellar senior season at University of Texas. With hard-working and staying mentally focused, he can be expected to improve rapidly and prove his great talent in football playing.

Productive Pisa Tinoisamoa joined Chicago Bears

Before he made the decision, he had the choices in the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills. I am not clear what caused him to make the final decision, but obviously he is the very player the Bears head coach Lovie Smith wants.

Tinoisamoa is smart, quick, and strong, with all of the quality a Smith coached defense needs. Also he recorded 661 tackles along with 10 sacks during his tenure in St. Louis.

Definitely, Tinoisamoa's joining will addd add depth and speed to Bears' defense.

The Chiefs: still long way to go

The Chiefs has already done a lot of things to move forward, but it is still not good enough.

They traded for Matt Cassell, and signed Tyson Jackson in the 1st round of this year and the best Tight End Tony Gonzalez, improving the defense a lot. Furthermore, they have Bowe as the top WR and Todd Haley, former coach of last year's Super Bowl winner Cardinals, as their new coach. They are in great hope. But problem is they lack a good offense and all of the defending players are still young and need improving.

What we can see now is they are improving, but it is unlikely to see a great leap in short future.

Competition will go on between Jackson and Rosenfels

Last year, as the Vikings' starter, Jackson went 2-4, with 26-14 loss to the Eagles in the playoff.

In te offseason, Houston's Rosenfels was traded to the Vikings, becoming a competitor with Jackson for the job of starting quarterback.

Till now, competition between the two is even up, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Jackson told the Star Tribune that he will work arder in the competition. And of course so will Rosenfels.

As a result, we can expect the competition to be continued, except that Brett Favre would be signed by the Vikings.

Darnell has to wait for extending contract with Cardianals

While it became more possible for Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin to extend his contract, Darnell Dockett has to wait pretty long time to get the team's comfirmation of extension.

Boldin has 2 years left, and Dockett has 3. And they are working with the same agent Drew Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus made proposals for both of them to the Cardinals, but the team president Michael Bidwill expressed that he has no interest in Dockett at the moment.

The Cardinals will be working on getting new contracts or extensions for quarterback Kurt Warner, linebacker Karlos Dansby, safety Adrian Wilson and Boldin, and there is no plan for Dockett yet.

Boldin wants to fire agent Rosenhaus

Papers had been filed by Boldin to fire his agent Drew Rosenhaus. The date is May 22nd. And Boldin will not be able to hire a new agent until at least May 27th.

What's Rosenhaus' response? According to what he wrote on his Twitter page, it seems that he still helds the hope that Boldin will return. But that may be not realistic, for Boldin is not the only one who wants to fire him, another Cardinals player, DT Darnell Dockett, he represents, also wants a new contract. May or may not, it is thought by some one Rosenhaus may be not a good agent.

Boldin was drafted by the Cards and left Florida State in 2003, and he really did a great job during his staying in the Cardinals, with catching of 89 passes fro 1038 yards and 11 touchdowns during last season when the Cards reached the Super Bowl, although injury limited him to 4 games.

Rookie WRs Robiskie, Stroughter are becoming new stars

Cleveland’s Brian Robiskie (Round 2, No. 36 overall) and Tampa Bay’s Sammie Stroughter (Round 7, No. 233 overall), two rookie wide receivers, have recently impressed people a lot.

A lot of assessment has come up about the two:

Someone said that Robiskie behaved as perfect as advertised, and stroughter, a late-round pick out of Oregon State, is already on the way to becoming the No. 1 offense, according to the St. Petersburg Times. His fellow wideout Michael Clayton also praised him ,“The guy has great feet. He’s caught every ball that’s touched his hands.”

“He’s a natural hand-catcher. He snatches it. He’s a smart guy who’s caught onto the offense really well.”One of Stroughter’s former teammateats in Oregon State, Bucs S Sabby Piscitelli thinks the rookie can be a factor. He also thought that Stroughter can definitely contribute and help this team win.


So people can expect that Robiskie and Stroughter will become contributors soon.

This is not the first time we saw new stars form rookie WRs. In 2008, the second-round picks of Broncos’ Eddie Royal and the Eagles’DeSean Jackson had major impacts in their rookie seasons. In 2006, seventh-rounder Marques Colston, with 1,038 receiving yards during his rookie year, became famous overnight.
